DescriptionWait...what??? Can nature REALLY look that amazing?! On the PCT, YES!!! It's all natural and good for you!

The Pacific Crest Trail (PCT), as everyone knows, extends from Canada all the way down to Mexico. This local post hits up the Donner Summit area near Truckee, CA (aka HEAVEN). To find more information and view maps, http://www.pcta.org/discover-the-trail/geography/northern-california/ is a great place to start.

There are a number of places and trail heads where you can access and get on the PCT, and this one started near exit 176 off of 80 (near Boreal Mountain Resort). There is also a great access point right at the top of Donner Pass. If you go there, you also get a spectacular view of Donner Lake. AWESOME!

The PCT itself is awesome, but there are also miles of fantastic trails that stem off from the trail that are so fun to explore, such as the Hole in the Ground Trail (awesome for mountain biking), and the trail that goes to the summit of Castle Peak.

I am just going to let the images speak for themselves as anything I say to further describe the experience could never do it justice. You just have to go and experience yourself!!!

Have fun!
