DescriptionChimney Gulch Trail is in the Jefferson County trail system and is connected to the Windy Saddle Trail and Park. The trail climbs to 2,000 feet in 2.5 miles from Highway 6 to the summit at Lookout Mountain Nature Center. The trail is moderate to advanced Mountain Biking and Moderate hiking. It passes through grass prairie and pine forest, crossing streams at several places. This trail is an advanced climb to the top of Lookout Mountain. It crosses Lookout Mountain Road several times. Be careful crossing the road. Watch for cars and road cyclists. To add more to this ride or hike, you can hook it up with the top of Apex trail near the top of the Enchanted Forest trail.
