DescriptionThe Sawyer Camp Trail skirts the Lower Crystal Springs Reservoir and served as a wagon trail between the area and San Francisco back in the day. The winding trail is paved and great for strollers or riding bikes but also has a dirt trail beside it. The lake offers wonderfully mystic mornings with the fog rolling in and hiding between the forest lined lake. There are trail markers every half mile for your convenience.

This trail is part of the Crystal Springs Regional Trail, which includes the San Andreas Trail segment to the north & the Crystal Springs Trail segment to the south.

  • Nice, scenic spot for a run, walk or bike (15 mph posted speed limit for bikes). I was there on a Wednesday around 9am and it was pretty steady use, so I imagine on the weekends it is pretty busy. Street parking. ( by Tracy on 2014-05-07 )
