DescriptionIn 2009, an abandoned railway bridge was finally turned into a pedestrian walkway over the Hudson River. On a good day, there will be walkers, runners, roller bladers and cyclists sharing the walkway with strollers and children. Be sure to check the web site, http://www.walkway.org, for closings due to inclement weather (lightning or ice will close the walkway). Also check for events which may cause the walkway to be closed.

Normal hours are from 7 am until sunset. The walkway itself is 1.28 miles long.

  • Grew up in this area. Remember when it was an old, dilapidated RR bridge. What an awesome restoration & recreation resource! ( by Tracy on 2013-10-27 )
