DescriptionThis is a nice little park that has restrooms and parking. It sits right on the Appalachian Trail. You can go either way on the trail. There is a bathroom about 6 miles north. Other than that, this could be a one way run-hike or a out and back. This is a very technical trail that is filled with some nice climbs, a lot of rocks. This is mountain hiking/walking and running. Mountain biking is strictly prohibited. The area of the current park includes Crampton's Gap, which saw fighting during the Battle of South Mountain, one of the first battles of the Maryland Campaign during the American Civil War. This area is rich in American History. You can google the park to find out directions to this. It is a great stopping site.
