DescriptionPossibly my favorite run in San Diego. It was in my regular circuit while living there & I always drive up to do it when visiting San Diego. Single track through coastal foliage, running along the lagoon west of I-5 & then back towards Rancho Santa Fe on the east side of I-5 (you can even continue on horse trails once in RSF). Birds, hikers, dogs, and some bugs. You'll see them all. Overall, a peaceful, easy out & back.

  • My favorite spot to run/walk with my dog! ( by Abbey Elias on 2014-07-30 )
  • So many different options for where to run and if you ever need water or a bathroom, you are not far from a gas station. Fairly well populated and a nice mix of flats and rolling hills. Mostly single track but also some areas where you can run side by side. 101 to El Camino Real is about 3.5 miles in one direction, but this trail also connects to another 10 miles of horse trails in Rancho Santa Fe.
