DescriptionThe Virginia Beach Boardwalk features a 3-mile stretch of sidewalk along the Atlantic Ocean, perfect for an out and back 6 mile run or walk. There is also a two-lane bike path, but it is often filled with beach cruisers or four-person bikes. Parking garages are available between Atlantic and Pacific Avenue at 4th, 9th, 12th, 25th, 31st and 34th streets. Free parking can be found at the far north end of the beach starting at 43rd street. Free parking, and extra mileage. This area is extremely congested during tourist season, Memorial to Labor Day, but is perfect for a run at sunrise or early in the day.
