DescriptionIf you come and visit Boston, there's no way you can miss out on a run/walk/bike along the Charles. Beautiful paved path that runs right along the river. Take in the awesome views of the water, sail boats, rowers, and Duck Tour boats! The best time, other than at any time, is sunset during the summer nights. Capture a view of the downtown Boston lights in the early evening as you cross over the river on one of Boston's great bridges. It's awesome! Have Fun!

  • Great location - I do this run about 3 days a week. It's worth adding that it's just as nice on the Cambridge side of the river. A nice 5M loop would be going over the Mass ave bridge, make a right towards Charlestown and come back to the Boston side of the river on the bridge where the science center is (O'Brien Highway) and follow the path back to the Mass Ave bridge to make a loop. Or, do Science Center to BU bridge for a larger loop (8 Mi?) ( by spilima on 2013-09-23 )
  • Several pedestrian bridges over Storrow Drive allow you to access this from the adjacent neighborhoods. ( by Tracy on 2013-07-23 )
  • One of my favorities! The daily go-to when we're there for the Boston Marathon. While it wasn't the designers original intention, folks have made a dirt path alongside the paved path for much of the route, which is great for softies like me. Love the people watching on this run! • Very cool place! Love the breeze from the water on a super warm day! ( by StephanieCase on 2013-07-09 )
