  • Great shaded off street trail with good access from perpendicular streets. Can be congested for cyclists looking for a speedy route. ( by CatrineM on 2014-09-23 )
  • As a business traveler to Dallas, I'm usually trapped in the downtown area. I've found that the Katy Trail is the best option for a decent run. I've only used the trail during the morning hours, and you will see many other runners and a few cyclists out then too. You can learn more about the trail - although the post is a bit cynical about crowding - and see more photos here: http://dallasrunningguide.com/2013/05/19/katy-trail/ One funny thing: I didn't realize that the trail was ever-so-slightly uphill on the way out of downtown. My out and back run was slow for the first 4 miles, then flying for the last 4. I thought it was because I was really "warmed up". Turns out I was just running downhill. Sigh.
