DescriptionStuck in traffic on 80/580? Pop off and get a run or walk in here instead of crawling on the freeway! Point Isabel is part of East Bay Regional Park District and another great section of the Bay Trail (a 500 mile trail around the San Francisco Bay Area, upon completion!). The trail is paved with a soft shoulder and the bonus of a nice off-leash dog park if you have a furry companion with you (dogs must be leashed on the paved section of trail heading toward Pt. Richmond; you'll see posted signs indicating leashed area). You can follow signs for the Bay Trail all the way into Pt. Richmond; there are a few different routes to run & see some historic sites aground the shipyards/Marinas once you get into Pt. Richmond.

You can also go south toward Albany; however, you'll hit a segment of the Bay Trail connecting Albany & Berkeley that isn't complete yet (once it is you'll be able to run all the way to Oakland & beyond!
