DescriptionWe opted for the Shuttle to the top of Alpine so we could pin the 13 mile net descent. It starts with a short climb, and overall we climbed about 1200 feet according to our GPS. The payoff is about 5,000 feet of descending through some wicked fun sectors. My favorite things to ride are linked turns, and there were tons of that. Midway down we were traversing the side of the hill as some good speed over shale, and that was a trip. Felt like Downieville (CA) on that section. The final mile has a pretty steep set of turns over loose ground that was a blast. We ended at a covered bridge and enjoyed a beverage as we let the arm pump fade. It's a big Smile Fest.

You can also climb to the top on a fire road, and I've done that too. This was higher on the fun meter since we were fresh and could really pin it with confidence and make sure we were wasted at the bottom.
