DescriptionBuffalo Bayou Park is a multi-million dollar city project that has brought vitality to the city of Houston. The 124-acre green space features 5+ miles of paved paths looping around and over Buffalo Bayou providing stunning skyline views of downtown. Park facilities include a skatepark, dog park, and multiple water fountains along the path. Visit www.buffalobayou.org for information and maps, because there really are so many great things to say about this space. I enjoy coming here for long runs by connecting Memorial Park to Buffalo Bayou. If you're feeling very ambitious and/or adventurous, cut a few blocks through downtown and connect to the Heights Hike and Bike Trail to get some serious mileage on foot or on bike. Easiest parking solutions are Cleveland Park at Jackson Hill St and Memorial drive and at Sabine St between the bayou and Memorial Dr. There are small areas to park along Memorial Dr and Allen Pkwy, but it can problematic at peak times leading to wasted time driving in circles. Parking downtown is also a good option. If you start downtown, reward yourself at any one of the delicious restaurants in the area surrounding Market Square Park.
