DescriptionThe Tennessee Valley is part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, an unbelievably beautiful playground of outdoor activity. From this parking area you can access a multitude of trails, most of which climb (you're starting in the valley), the reward being some spectacular views from the ridgelines. I did a loop of Marincello/Miwok/Old Springs (approx. 4 miles).

The one trail that is relatively flat is the Tennessee Valley Trail leading to Tennessee Cove, a perfect walk with young ones with the reward of a beach at the end of the trail (approx 4 miles round trip from parking lot to Tennessee Cove).

The trails are well-marked, enabling you to put together some nice loops and/or out-and-backs, depending on your time/distance/vista goals. However, it's always good to carry a paper map or keep one pulled up on your phone (do it before you get to the parking area because cell service is spotty) for safety.
