DescriptionUp, up, up--then down, down, down! 1.050 elevation gain over 3 miles. 6 mile total out & back on this single-track of varying grade. The views and curiosity about what's around the next bend will keep you going. Mostly expose but there is a nice shady section through eucalyptus grove. Trail is multi-use (cyclists/hikers/equestrians/runners); be prepared and yield accordingly. There's a bell box at the start for cyclists--borrow one if you need one!

You can access Dune Trail from the same parking area.
Not a bad view from the trail!

  • beautiful morning run. First time in the area, saw some deer and a few rabbits. Each turn hailed a new view. Couldn't help but stop and take a lot of photos. Running through the eucalyptus trees smelled amazing. If you weren't smelling the eucalyptus you were smelling the sea breeze and brush. Would definitely do this run over and over! Not a single person on the trail; I did it mid week about 7 am. ( by astacker on 2015-09-22 )
