DescriptionThis trail, while called Ridgeline by name, does dip down into Box Canyon a bit, making for some steep ups & downs. Surface is native soil & loose rocks in sections. Trail is rated difficult by the City of Carlsbad: http://www.carlsbadca.gov/services/depts/parks/open/trails/preserve/ridgeline.asp.

Ridgeline Trail is approximately 1.5 miles long, but connects to other trails that are within Rancho La Costa Preserve for longer distances. Connecting to other trails in Rancho La Costa Preserve will eventually take you to Melrose Dr., where you can then go left or right for a bit to connect onto other City of Carlsbad or City of San Marcos trails. On-street parking at trailhead on El Fuerte.
