DescriptionMt. Lafayette is an almost 6000 ft. Tall mountain that has its summit in the alpine zone. The trailhead is easy to find and the trail is a switchback mostly nicely compacted with snow with beautiful views and evergreen parts through most of it. The alpine zone for this mountain has winds around 40-60mph on average and is a steep straight incline at the end. The views are gorgeous once you get to the ridge line and the summit is only a little while away from the shelter with the most amazing view of the town Lincoln, neighboring mountains, etc. The mountain is the #4 most prominent peak on New England's 50 Finest Most Prominent Peaks list.
