Quail Hill Preserve Trail

(1)
Location
Irvine,
CALIFORNIA
From You7796.30 Mi
Local TipsThere's a good hill climb at the beginning - don't let a map fool you into thinking this is a boring, flat loop! Great for a dog walk or engagement photos.

DescriptionThe Quail Hill Preserve Trail is a really short 2-mile loop trail on rolling, dirt terrain. It's dog-friendly and easily-accessible from the 405. There's parking available within 25 feet of the trailhead. This place is such a tease - there are lots of offshoot trails that look like fun, but they're not open to the public and signage is in place to clearly tell you this! If you head clockwise and make the first/only big climb, you'll get a cool-ish view of the city (and a little bit of freeway) from the top. This is a great spot all around, because it hooks up to the Shady Canyon Trail, which takes you to the Bommer Canyon Trail, and from there you can get to many other longer, serious trails in the area (which are NOT dog-friendly, by the way). This is a nice taste!
