DescriptionFor the more-adventurous runners out there: from Downtown Dallas, the best place to run/bike/walk is the Katy Trail (see its entry elsewhere on this site). However, if you are bored with that out & back every day, you can try running along Turtle Creek. There is a paved path that parallels the creek for about 2.5 to 3 miles. Pick it up at Reverchon Park, which is adjacent to the Katy Trail, next to Thomsen's Overlook. Map: http://www.katytraildallas.org/maps/KatyTrailPlan_2011.pdf From Reverchon Park you can pick up Turtle Creek and wind your way. PLEASE NOTE: I haven't run here that many times, but each time I encountered at least one homeless person camped out under a bridge - I would NOT recommend this route for any women running alone (perhaps Dallas folks can weigh in below). There are some stairs along the way, and some quick/sharp turns, so this route would not work for bikes or jogging strollers.
