Description Also known as the Charles M. Christiansen Trail, this is a very popular trail for local mountain bikers who I hate to say often don't play well with others so you need to be aware of your surroundings if you are running or hiking here. This trail winds through the bottom of the Phoenix Mountain Preserve as it winds around the mountains and can be taken all the way to Tatum Blvd where there is a trail head. The trail is generally well defined and easy to stay on. There is minimal elevation gain on the main trail but there are several offshoots that can add some nice challenging, technical climbs. If you go end to end it is around 11 miles round trip. There are a few parking lots and trailheads including the Dreamy Draw trailhead where I think is a good place to park and then go either East or West then back. There are some street crossings, however most are done through tunnels so you are not dodging vehicles.
