DescriptionPleasant path to run that runs along Highway 101 through Solana Beach. Nice landscape that provides a buffer between trail and cars. Path is approximately 12 feet wide, is paved with decomposed granite running along the edges and accommodates pedestrians and bicycles (recreational riding; there is a nice bike lane on 101 for the hundreds of cyclists that ride this route for fitness and commuting each day, particularly on weekends).

The path runs is just under 2 miles in distance from Via de la Valle to the northern end of Solana Beach. On the northern end you can continue up the coast along Hwy 101 (in bike lane along beach stretch) or cross the RR tracks (technically illegal) to connect with San Elijo Lagoon. On the south end you can again stay along 101, or pick up the Del Mar Riverpath/Coast to Crest Trail just south of Dog Beach/San Dieguito River mouth, on the east side of 101.

Street parking is best option. Area around dog beach is busy on weekends.
