DescriptionI absolutely LOVE old railroads trails that get converted into nice, awesome public trails, and the Bruce Freedman Trail is one of these! It's awesome. So, the BFT is a proposed trail to run 25 miles through the communities of Lowell, Chelmsford, Westford, Carlisle, Acton, Concord, Sudbury, and Framingham in Massachusetts. Phase 1 is done, and it's great. Phase 2 & 3 are still in the works, but what is available now is 6.8 miles of awesomeness. :) Check out the pics! Beautiful paved trail. It is pretty flat, but that's OK. :) Lots of great shade for the hotter days. A super great parking/starting point is right by Hart Pond (see map point). After your workout, go jump in the lake! There's a sandy beach and a fun playground which is perfect for the kidos! This trail is great for all kinds of outdoor activities. Since it runs through these great Massachusetts towns, along your day's adventure, stop in one of the cute shops, or grab some ice cream!

  • Very nice trail. Only downside is it had some busy streets to cross which often meant stopping for traffic. ( by schmeck on 2016-08-25 )
