DescriptionNo runner who visits Madison should miss running in "The Arb". Whether you prefer roads (start at Vilas Park and loop around Lake Wingra, following the Arboretum Drive and a few city streets) or want to hit the trails (if you loop around enough, you can rack up at least 8 miles of trail running, with much of it on single track), you'll love running here. Traffic is very limited (no through-traffic is allowed), and you'll see runners of all shapes, sizes, and abilities here, as well as a few cyclist and plenty of hikers and bird watchers. For a real adventure, find the tiny, dark tunnel under the beltway and run through it's scary passage to find more trails in the southern part of the Arb.
