DescriptionWhen on business travel in Baltimore, it's possible to run a few (mostly-uninterrupted by traffic) miles along the inner harbor. There is a pedestrian path that runs along the water's edge in both directions from the area around Harbor Place and the Gallery, near the USS Constellation. I've managed to run about 8 miles by heading back and forth each way, starting and finishing near the Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace Hotel (note: you might be able to go longer - I didn't push the eastern edge of the pedestrian path to its end). The route is pancake flat, paved (concrete, brick pavers) and weaves on and around several of the waterfront piers. There are a couple of spots, especially as you run to the East, where you must head a block or two away from the water for a few hundred meters, but as long as you keep as near as you can you'll be fine finding your way back. Seemed pretty safe to me, although I have run in these areas only during morning, daylight hours. I would imagine that the retail areas get very crowded during warm weather days, so recommend getting out there early.
