DescriptionThe Shanahan Ridge, located up top of Lehigh Street in Southwest Boulder is a great starting point to access many trails in the along the front range.

There are two main trails that start from the access point at the street, the North Shanahan Ridge trail and the South Shanahan Ridge trail. Both trails head west up towards the Mesa trail which connect the larger loop but there are many interweaving trails and cut throughs between so that you can make smaller loops if desired. The North Shanahan trail is a wide dirt path that winds up the ridge where you get spectacular views of the Flatirons and NCAR to the north. The South Shanahan Trail is similar at the top, but also cuts into the woods with a weaving singletrack.

If you are looking for a longer run/hike the Shanahan trails also serve as a gateway to the many trails including the longer Mesa Trail, or follow it up through Fern Canyon all the way up to Bear Peak.
