DescriptionThis trail offers access to the Gateway Loop Trail as well as the Levee Trail. This parking lot is not as developed as the main trail head for McDowell Mountain Preserve, but provides easy access. Start here and head in. The trail splits in about 1/2 mile where you can take the levee trail or head straight to the main trailhead. If you start here you can make a great 4 mile trail loop by taking levee to Gateway Trail and back. All of the trails are very well marked, and there is water and bathrooms at the Gateway Trail Head about 1 mile away.
